MY JOB: To provide you with the most important tool you'll ever have when making a first impression in a casting scenario - a great headshot. You have to look engaging, charismatic, confident and above all else, you have to look CASTABLE.
I have extensive experience in the casting rooms of Vancouver and the auditioning process within Commercials and Film and Television. I have knowledge through personal connections and communications with many local Casting Directors regarding their own personal preferences. I also have personal relationships with many local Talent Agents. And furthermore, extensive and ongoing experience as a Casting Director myself and on the casting teams of independent film productions. I've worked side by side with a branding and marketing expert as part of Capilano University's acting program. All this has given me a significant understanding of the current casting climate in Vancouver and I'm pleased to be able to share that knowledge with you. We will discuss everything that I need to know about your current goals as an actor, and then shoot specifically tailored to your needs.
YOUR JOB: You need to have a good understanding of the types of roles that you and your agent are marketing for. This is not simply a good portrait, it’s about capturing a realistic and fascinating representation of you in a way that will appeal to Casting Directors. Talk to your agent, make sure you are on the same page, find out their needs for your headshots as well as yours.
DURING THE SHOOT: Be prepared to have fun! The best headshots come from those who are prepared, relaxed and open to being expressive.
Professional hair and makeup is always an option if you’re female. I will arrange for a makeup artist to be present for the shoot if you desire. My makeup artist's fee is $100, but you are welcome to bring your own makeup artist or have your makeup done before the shoot.
I can shoot a combination of studio and outdoor shots. My studio is located in North Vancouver, close to the seabus terminal. It’s easily accessible from the #1 highway if you’re driving. If it is a problem for you to travel I am open to travelling to you, or to any other location where you'd prefer to shoot.
AFTER THE SHOOT: You will be provided with a personal online gallery of all of your shots, otherwise called a 'proofing gallery'. The proofs are yours to keep and use as you desire. If you have an agent, mentor or acting coach, they will probably want to look at them too. Once you’ve chosen the shots you want to use as your headshots I will professionally retouch them and provide you with all the files you need for print and online purposes.
All in all it’s a pretty painless procedure, and a lot of fun. So if you like the sound of what I have to offer, if you have any questions or if you'd like to book a session then shoot me an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
Looking forward to meeting you!
